My top jogging stroller picks for 2026 are the BOB Alterrain Pro and Thule Urban Glide 3 for running, the Guava Roam when folded size matters, and the UPPAbaby Ridge V2 for everyday use with jogging capability. As a mom of three and CPST who has tested more than 150 strollers, I care about the push, but also the fold, seat comfort, and how the stroller fits into family life. Here is what I like and what I would change about each one.

What makes a stroller safe for running?
I remember when I first learned that not all Baby Jogger strollers are meant for jogging. Jogger is in the name! The City Mini GT3 and GT2 Double can handle more terrain than many everyday strollers, but they are not running strollers. Start with a model the manufacturer approves for jogging, then follow its running setup. A locking front wheel, suspension, five-point harness, and wrist strap matter; three wheels or air-filled tires alone do not make a stroller safe for running.
The Features Parents Look for in Joggers:
For running, I pay particular attention to a front wheel that locks straight, a comfortable adjustable handlebar, and how the suspension feels with a child in the seat. A hand brake helps control speed on hills; the foot brake is for parking. Covered storage, a snack tray, and cup holders are everyday conveniences, but I would choose the running performance first.
- Locking Front Wheel
- Hand brake
- Suspension
- Safety wrist strap
- Covered basket
- 5-point harness (most strollers have this these days)
- Reflective elements in the wheels and the canopy
- Large weather protective canopy
Air-Filled Tires vs. Never-Flat Tires
There is a big debate among runners about which has superior performance: air-filled or never-flat tires. In general, it is believed that air-filled tires have better performance across a variety of terrains, but at the same time, companies like UPPAbaby and Guava have figured out a way to make an incredible-quality jogger without the hassle of having to travel with a bike pump and flat repair kit.
For our mix of walking and occasional runs, I appreciate never-flat tires because I do not have to stop and pump them up before leaving. If you prefer air-filled tires, plan to check pressure and carry what you need for a flat. The tires are only part of the ride: suspension, wheel size, tracking, and the terrain matter too.

Best Jogger Overall – BOB Alterrain Pro
It was hard to narrow down the best overall because there are so many good options, but focusing on running, it really is hard to beat the BOB Alterrain Pro. From its ergonomic handlebar to the suspension and built-in hand brake to the smooth ride for baby, this is one of the best. BOB strollers are known for their durability and incredible performance, making them a great choice for avid runners.
- Price: $829.99
- Weight: 32.3 lbs
- Age Range: 8 weeks for walking; 8 months for jogging/off-road use, up to 75 lbs and within the height limit
- Tire: Air-Filled

Best Jogger Overall Runner Up – Thule Urban Glide 3
Parents ask me all the time what my favorite stroller is, and honestly, it’s hard to choose. But I have to give a shoutout to the Thule Urban Glide 3. It’s an incredible jogging stroller with many of the same features as the BOB, along with some thoughtful upgrades. I love Thule’s quality, and the Urban Glide 3’s improvements (like the new upright seat!) make it even better. If you’re looking for a high-performance jogging stroller with newborn capabilities, this one is definitely worth considering.
Best Compact Jogger – Guava Roam
I LOVE this stroller and a lot more than I thought I would. My biggest frustration with joggers is how big they are when folded, and this one advertises a 50% smaller fold compared to the competition, so I was intrigued. Also, the fact that it does not use any chemical flame retardants (though a lot of strollers do not have these anyway) and being GreenGuard Gold certified is also a selling point. The Guava Roam makes a great everyday jogger, just keep in mind there is no bassinet or full flat option for use from birth. We have put this stroller to the test and it really can take any terrain and handles running like a pro.

Cons:
- Does not latch when folded
- No bassinet option or newborn recline
Best Everyday Jogger – UPPAbaby Ridge V2
UPPAbaby is known for its high-quality strollers and customer service. The Ridge is an amazing everyday jogger that pairs with the safe sleep approved UPPAbaby bassinet (I got mine second-hand, and they have historically been easy to find used). Check out this video overview of the Ridge V2.
I love how easy it is to tighten the harness straps, and the buckles are simple to use. The upright seat, extendable canopy, covered storage basket, and included water bottle holder are useful for everyday outings. A compatible bassinet or infant car seat gives you a newborn walking option with the correct adapters. The snack tray is a separate accessory. I do wish it had an adjustable calf rest and a smaller fold, but joggers are naturally bulky.
- Price: Check the linked retailer for the current Ridge V2 price and included accessories.
- Weight: 29.2 lbs
- Walking use: Seat from 3 months to 55 lbs; from birth with approved accessories.
- Tire: Never-flat
Pros:
- Works with the UPPAbaby bassinet
- Upright seat
- Easy fold
Cons:
- No adjustable calf rest
- Large Fold
Best Modular Jogger – Veer Switch&Jog
Did you know a jogger with a reversible seat existed?! I didn’t until recently, and let me tell you, the Veer Switch&Jog is so cool. It even has a bassinet option. It has air-filled tires and adjustable suspension and is one of the easiest strollers to clean. Check out this video I made to see the features in action.

Best Double Jogger – Thule Urban Glide 3 Double
This is one of my husband’s favorite strollers and one he liked jogging with the most. We got the Urban Glide 2 (here is my review) a few years ago, and it was our first true double stroller. This stroller feels incredibly high-end, has an easy fold, and with the upgrades on the Urban Glide 3, like upright seats, easier to attach accessories, and car seat adapters, adjustable calf supports, etc., it is almost a perfect running stroller. While it is big when folded, it makes up for it with features.
Order on Amazon and Nordstrom.
Price: $999.95 when checked
Weight: 35.3 lbs
Child capacity: 49 lbs per seat on Thule’s current US listing. Use approved newborn accessories for walking only.
Tires: Air-filled
Pros:
- Easy-to-use hand brake
- Premium feel & upgrades like upright seats, large canopies, adjustable calf rests, etc.
- Bassinet & car seat (works with a lot of brands), compatible on one side
- Great storage
- Good accessories like snack trays and infant inserts
Cons:
- Large fold
- Wide stroller: measure your exact setup against Disney’s current 31-inch width and 52-inch length limits before taking it to the parks.
- Only one bassinet or infant car seat can be attached at a time. If you have newborn twins, confirm an approved setup for both babies directly with Thule before buying.

How I would choose a jogging stroller
For frequent runs: start with the push and control
The BOB Alterrain Pro and Thule Urban Glide 3 are where I would start. Both have air-filled tires and hand brakes, but try the handlebar and brake with your own stride if you can. A stroller can feel great for one parent and awkward for another. Check that the front wheel locks securely and tracks straight, and follow the manual for tire pressure and any tracking adjustment.
For everyday use: compare the seat and newborn setup
If this will be your only stroller, look past the running features. Can you reach the basket, adjust the harness, and use the seat comfortably for errands? Is the infant car seat you already own compatible, and which adapter does it need? I like the Ridge V2 for this mix of uses. My newborn stroller guide explains the different walking options from birth.
For a small trunk: check the compact fold
Guava Roam is the one I would look at first when storage is the problem. Even a compact jogging stroller is larger than a travel stroller, though. Compare the folded dimensions with your trunk and think about lifting it in and out, especially if you will be doing that several times a day. Removable wheels can help with occasional storage, but I would not want that extra step for every errand.
For two children: account for the whole load
A double jogger needs to fit both children comfortably, and the extra width and loaded weight matter for pushing and storage. Check each child’s limit and the stroller’s total load limit, including the basket. If one child is a newborn, a compatible walking configuration does not make both children ready for a run.
Manufacturer references: BOB Alterrain Pro specifications, Ridge V2 specifications, and Disney’s current stroller rules. Always follow the instructions supplied with your stroller.
FAQs
When Is It Safe to Start Jogging with a Baby?
There is no single minimum age for every jogging stroller. BOB lists eight months for jogging or off-road use in the Alterrain Pro; other brands have their own requirements. Wait until your child meets the stroller’s instructions and your pediatrician agrees they are ready. A bassinet or infant car seat can allow earlier walking, but it does not make running with a newborn appropriate.
Do jogging strollers need air-filled tires?
No. Air-filled tires are common on joggers such as BOB and Thule, but the Guava Roam and UPPAbaby Ridge use never-flat tires. Start with a stroller approved for jogging and consider the complete suspension and wheel setup, not the tire material alone.
Can a jogging stroller be your everyday stroller?
Yes, if you have room for its size and fold. I like the smooth push and larger wheels for walks, but a jogger can be bulky in stores and in the trunk. Think about where you will use it most before choosing it as your only stroller.
Should the front wheel be locked for running?
Follow your stroller’s jogging instructions. On the swivel-wheel joggers in this guide, the front wheel needs to be locked straight for running. Use the harness and wrist strap as instructed, and check the stroller before each outing.
